Upper St. Clair Man Charged in Shop'n Save Killing

Online records show that Brandon Daniel Thomas was arraigned early Friday and remanded to the Washington County Jail.

Washington police charged an Upper St. Clair man with a single count of homicide stemming from the shooting death Thursday of a 55-year-old Washington man in a grocery store parking lot.

The Observer-Reporter newspaper indicated that Brandon Daniel Thomas, 30, is accused of fatally shooting Vaughn A. Simonelli.

Online court records show that Thomas was arraigned at 4 a.m. Friday before district Judge Mark Wilson and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being denied bail, according to online court records.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Thomas on Oct. 24, online court records show.

"The victim was involved in altercation with another male that led to gunfire in
the parking lot of Shop n’ Save (in Washington)," Washington County Coroner Tim Warco wrote in a release Thursday.

Sorry for everything you have to deal with Brandon. The ignorance of the American civilian public will shine through and claim you as a bad person. We all know your not, when someone comes at a person who has had to kill many in terms of self defense it becomes reactive. That "dudes" first blow was the wrong one HUH!

u r innocent brandon..im a supporter of u..i dont the simonellis nor u..but hands down u r no murderer..i would have protected myself if it meant killing someone to..u acted in self defense..of course the family will say differently..they r hurting..they miss their loved one even if he wasnt a great law abiding person..they loved him..so brandon forgive them for their pain and ignorance..thank u for serving and protecting ur country..thank u for taking a stand on being attacked..u deserve to be free..u r in my prayers..hang in there..
