Two Arrested in Video Store Robbery

Police said Family Video was robbed at gunpoint Friday night.

Police in Bridgeville arrested two men and charged them with the armed robbery of the last week.

The men were seen sleeping in a car parked along Pesavento Drive around 7 a.m. Tuesday, prompting one resident to call .

Upon hearing their description, Scott police assisted Bridgeville officers in chasing down the two men on foot and stopping them on nearby Union Street. Scott police arrested Jerome Cutler, 23, of Beaver Falls, and Willie Cutler Jr., 24, of Greensburg, and charged them with robbing the video story shortly before midnight Friday.

said the two men entered Family Video on Washington Pike, showed the clerk guns and demanded money. A getaway driver apparently left without the two men after spotting a police car in the area, Secreet said.

Both men left the video store through a back door and eluded police the rest of the weekend while hiding in the woods near Glendale and running through the Chartiers Creek over to Heidelberg.

Police were able to recover cash, bandanas, glasses and a shoe as evidence. Secreet said investigators later identified one of the robbers and put out his description to area police departments.

“Officers searched the area, saw them and chased them through the Glendale neighborhood with other (police) departments,” Secreet said. “A state police helicopter was called in and we had multiple sightings, but they were never apprehended.”

Secreet said the two men may also be involved in armed robberies at video stores in Moon Township and New Brighton.

Both Jerome Cutler and Willie Cutler Jr. face charges of robbery, reckless endangerment, theft, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. They were arraigned by on Tuesday and taken to Allegheny County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Their preliminary hearings are scheduled before Zyra on Sept. 8 at 1:30 p.m.
