Truck Crashes Into Pizza Hut

A truck backing out of a parking spot at Pizza Hut apparently crashed into the building, causing some damage to the restaurant. Read about that and other crime news in the weekly Collier Township police blotter.

 A truck backing out of a parking spot at Pizza Hut apparently crashed into the building, causing some damage to the structure on Nov. 11.

Collier police said workers inside the pizza restaurant along Washington Pike heard a bang and noticed a large cooler holding soda bottles shake.

The damaged was apparently caused by a pick-up truck’s ball hitch, although the structure is still considered safe.

Witnesses said they saw a pick-up truck and sport-utility vehicle leaving the scene at the time.

Collier Township

Student arrested at football game: Collier Township police said they arrested a fan at last week’s WPIAL playoff football game at Chartiers Valley High School Stadium. Police said they charged Jeremy Aschman, 18, of Imperial, with public drunkenness during the neutral site football game between West Allegheny and Montour on Nov. 9.

Car cover stolen: A car cover worth nearly $500 was stolen from a Barry Avenue residence in the early hours of Nov. 9, Collier Township police said.
