Shot Fired From Bridgeville Home

A man apparently "angry about something" fired a rifle shot from the porch of his Union Street home earlier this month. Read about that and other crime in the weekly Bridgeville police blotter.

A man apparently “angry about something” fired a rifle shot from the porch of his Union Street home earlier this month, Bridgeville police said.

Police said they were called to the home shortly before 8 p.m. on Oct. 5 for a report of shots fired and found 54-year-old Ronald Oehm.

He was arrested without incident, police said, after he allegedly shot one round from his 30-06 rifle into the air from his porch. Two other guns were seized from his home police said.

“The shot was fired in the general direction of homes and businesses in Bridgeville and Collier Township,” police said in a press release. “Several people were on the front porch of the house next to Oehm’s at the time the shot was fired.”

Police said Oehm was charged with reckless endangerment because “the bullet could have traveled a great distance and killed or injured someone.” He also faces charges of disorderly conduct and firearms violation.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

 

Bridgeville

Man allegedly threatens officers after DUI arrest: A Bridgeville man being arrested for drunken driving allegedly fought with police officers and damaged a police cruiser, borough police said. Police said John Hall, 48, became combative after officers conducted a field sobriety test in the 200 block of Washington Avenue on Oct. 17. Police said he then spit on an officer, threatened them and later urinated in the police station’s garage. Hall faces charges of drunken driving, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and careless driving.

Intoxicated man found in car: Derek Mullen, 29, of McMurray, was charged with public drunkenness after Bridgeville police said they found him passed out in a car partially in the roadway at Station and Railroad streets in the early hours of Oct. 18.

Public drunkenness charge: Randy Thomson, 46, of Bridgeville, was charged with public drunkenness after borough police officers said they found him in the 600 block of Baldwin Street on Oct. 15.
