Scott Twp. Man Waives Burglary Charges to Court

A man charged by both Scott Township and Carnegie police has waived charges to court.

A Scott Township man facing similar charges from Scott Township and Carnegie police departments waived his charges to court in lieu of a preliminary hearing scheduled July 25 before District Judge Gary M. Zyra.

Thomas Zekler, 29, waived to court charges of burglary, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property and possessing and instrument of crime.

Scott police charged Zekler with burglary and criminal mischief for allegedly attempting to break into a garage on Spikenard Street on July 19. According to the police report, Zekler also was involved in a similar theft incident in Carnegie, and was charged by Carnegie Police.

Formal arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 11.
