Scott Township Woman Waives Drug, Theft Charges

The following is an update on court cases scheduled before District Judge Gary Zyra on May 16. Zyra oversees Heidelberg and Scott Township.

A Scott Township woman charged with theft and drug violations has waived her charges to court in lieu of a hearing scheduled for May 16 before Magisterial District Judge Gary M. Zyra.

Scott Township police charged Maria Brentin, 21, with possession of drug paraphernalia when they were executing an arrest warrant on her for a separate incident. Brentin also is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

Charges Withdrawn

  • A possession of marijuana charge against Paul Boerema, 20, of Washington, Pa., was withdrawn and a disorderly conduct charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott Township police charged Boerema on March 15.
The following cases were waived for court:
  • Adam Lucarini, 20, of McDonald, waived to court charges of  tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and a traffic offense. Another traffic charge was withdrawn. Heidelberg police charged Lucarini on March 16.
  • Angela Taylor, age unknown, of Washington, Pa., waived to court a charge of writing bad checks. Heidelberg police charged Taylor on Feb. 28.
