Police Investigate Four House Burglaries

Collier police are warning residents to be vigilant after four houses were burglarized in the past week.

Collier Township police are warning residents to be vigilant after investigating four house burglaries around the area in the past week.

Burglars broke into four homes in the township last week, taking hundreds of dollars in cash and an unspecified amount of jewelry.

Police said in each case, the burglars broke into doors or windows in the rear of the homes while the residents were away. View the map to the right to see the general areas of the four burglaries.

  • Police said residents at a home on Baldwin Street Extension told police they returned on April 4 and found that someone broke a window above the rear porch and entered. The burglars took prescription medicine and $4,000 worth of jewelry, police said.
  • On the night of April 4, someone entered a Steen Road home through a back door and took $200 in cash and β€œa bunch of jewelry,” police said. Investigators said the residents were away from the house between 4:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
  • The following night on April 5, a home in the 1000 block of Noblestown Road was entered and $150 in cash and jewelry was stolen. The residents told police they had been away from 4:45 p.m. and 9 p.m., and returned to find their home burglarized.
  • Finally, a resident living on Delfred Drive told police that her home was burglarized some time during April 7. The person was away from the home from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and returned to find the door to a lower storage room damaged and $700 in cash missing, police said.

Police are investigating whether the four incidents are connected. They are asking neighbors to be on alert for strange people roaming around homes and to contact the at 412-276-5051 if they see anyone suspicious.
