Police Investigating Another Home Burglary in Birdland

Scott Township police said a Raven Drive homewas burglarized while the resident was on vacation earlier this month. Read more about that and other crime in the weekly Scott police blotter.

Scott Township police are investigating another burglary in the Birdland neighborhood.

Police said a resident returned home from vacation on Jan. 10 to find their home in the 1400 block of Raven Drive was burglarized.

It is not know when the burglary happened, police said, because the resident apparently was away from New Year’s Day until Jan. 10. Police did not say what, if anything, was taken from the home.

Investigators are not sure if the break-in is related to two burglaries on Meadowlark Drive last week. Grant Goeckeler, 29, of Scott, and Brian Butt, 27, of Bridgeville, were charged in connection with those burglaries.

Bridgeville police also arrested them men recently in connection with the theft of a generator worth $300 from a borough property on Dec. 27.

Scott Township

Police chase motorist: Scott Township police said they charged Corey Kemp, 19, of Pittsburgh, after he allegedly refused to stop for officers when they tried to pull him over for several traffic violations in the 1100 block of Washington Avenue on Jan. 12. Police said he eventually stopped his car and ran from police. His car was impounded, police said.

Drug charge: Alfred Quevi, 46, of Heidelberg, was charged with drug possession on Jan. 13 after Scott Township police said they found suspected narcotics in his car during a traffic stop on Route 50.

Disorderly conduct charge: Christopher Howells, 21, of Pittsburgh, was charged with disorderly conduct during a traffic stop along Bell Avenue on Jan. 8, Scott Township police said.

Car damaged by snowball: A vehicle was damaged when a snowball struck it near Vanadium Road and Berkwood Drive on Jan. 9. Police are investigating the incident and did not say what damage the car sustained.
