Police Investigate $52k Jewelry Heist in Nevillewood

Police said nearly $52,000 worth of "good jewelry" was taken from a Collier home.

It isn’t quite Ocean’s 11, but Collier Township police are investigating a monumental jewelry heist in .

A resident living on St. Mellion Drive reported to police on Oct. 20 that nearly $52,000 worth of jewelry was apparently stolen from her home.

The jewelry apparently was taken in early October, but police said she only recently discovered the apparent theft because it was “good jewelry” that isn’t worn often. In all, the missing jewelry is valued at $51,800.

“To me, that’s a good bit of money, a good bit of jewelry,” . “I think it was a lot of jewelry.”

Police said there did not appear to be a break-in at the home, so investigators are interviewing people who may have been inside the home in the past month on visits or to work. Police declined to identify the homeowner.

“They’re investigating with different things,” Devin said. “Not only just interviews, but a lot of field work.”
