Downtown Bridgeville turned into a drag racing track earlier this month.

Street racing: Downtown Bridgeville was the site of an early-morning drag race on Sept. 10. A borough police officer said he saw two cars line up beside each other in the 700 block of Washington Avenue and began racing down the road. The officer was able to stop one of the cars and charged the driver, Dan Platzer, 20, of Bridgeville, with reckless driving. A passenger in the car, Andrew Micheli, 19, of Bridgeville, faces an underage drinking charge, police said. Officers did not say if they were able to locate the driver of the other car.

Business theft: Samantha Moran, 29, of Carnegie, was charged with theft when Bridgeville police said they received a report of missing items at a Dewey Avenue business on Sept. 13.

Sleeping in the park: Eric Day, 31, of Upper St. Clair, was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct after Bridgeville police said they found him sleeping on the bathroom floor at McLaughlin Park on Sept. 10.

Knife fight: Heidelberg police charged 30-year-old borough resident Joseph A. Alexander with aggravated assault and harassment on Sept. 13. Police said Alexander got into a fight with a woman inside his Walnut Street home and cut the side of her neck and jaw with a knife.

 

Hit-and-run crash: Scott police said a Carnegie man had a blood-alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit to drive when he crashed on Route 50 and left the scene. Police said James A. Chiodo, 41, of Carnegie, had a BAC of .317 when he crashed on Sept. 12. Police charged him with drunken driving and various traffic offenses.

Domestic dispute: Township police said they charged Ronald S. Kramer, 31, of Scott, with assault and harassment following a fight at his Center Street residence on Sept. 18.

Assault charge: Erik Allen, 20, of Scott was charged with assault and harassment on Sept. 13 following a fight on Carothers Avenue, township police said.

Fight at drug store: Scott police said they cited Clarence Hatcher, 61, of Carnegie, with disorderly conduct on Sept. 15 after an altercation at the Rite Aid in Raceway Plaza.

Theft charge: Robert P. Milliron, 42, of Canonsburg, was charged with theft and possession of marijuana at Walmart on Sept. 16, Scott police said.

Argument leads to arrest: Scott police said they charged 21-year-old township resident Carlo A. Williams with disorderly conduct following an argument on Sept. 18.

Two charged with public drunkenness: Justin J. Waxter, 28, of Carnegie, and Calvin J. Sweitzer, 28, of Pittsburgh, were charged with public drunkenness on Sept. 17 while at the GetGo gas station on Washington Avenue, Scott police said.

DUI arrest: Scott police said Brandon Gleve, 28, of Pittsburgh, was charged with drunken driving on Sept. 13.

Public drunkenness charge: Stephen M. Drizos, 28, of Mt. Lebanon, was charged with public drunkenness on Sept. 14, Scott Township police said.

False identification: Scott police said Bruce J. Ramsey, 29, of Burgettstown, provided officers with false identification during a traffic stop on Sept. 16.

 

Burglary: Someone broke into a Baldwin Road home on Sept. 18 and took jewelry from inside the home, Collier police said.

Car parts stolen: Several car hoods and bumpers were stolen from Hamlin’s Automotive on Mayer Street some time from Sept. 9 to 12.

Home burglarized: Collier police are investigating the Sept. 12 burglary of a Margaret Street home in which two televisions and a jar of coins were stolen.

Theft from car: Collier police said someone entered an unlocked car parked at Chartiers Valley Shopping Center on Sept. 16 and took $400 in cash, CDs and pills.

Shoplifting arrest: Autumn Kovach, 21, of Collier, was charged with retail theft after township said she walked out with a pair of shoes from Plato’s Closet on Sept. 14.
