Police arrested a man after investigators said he burglarized a Heidelberg apartment building. Also, a tree trimmer is accused of ripping off an elderly woman by not removing a tree after she paid him to cut it down.

Suspected burglar arrested: Police from multiple agencies arrested a 19-year-old Collier Township man after investigators said he burglarized the Heidelberg apartment building where he used to live. Police said Alex S. Higie was inside one of the apartments at 612 Grant Ave. on April 11 when officers from Heidelberg, Collier, Scott and the Allegheny County sheriff’s department arrived and surrounded the house. He was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. After executing a search warrant on Higie’s residence on April 13, police said they found five gold chains, a diamond-studded watch and two iPods that were reported missing. He faces additional charges in the burglary.

Worker charged with theft of services: A tree trimmer faces multiple charges after Heidelberg police said he accepted $2,500 for work he never completed. Police said Mark J. Kinsella of Professional Tree Services in McCandless, was supposed to do landscaping and remove a tree for a 77-year-old Heidelberg woman who recently lost her husband. But Kinsella never did the work, police said, prompting them to charge him with theft by deception and fraudulent business practices on April 13.

Man seen staggering in the street: Heidelberg police charged 59-year-old borough resident Timothy M. Jablonski with public drunkenness on April 11 after officers said they saw him staggering and jumping in front of passing vehicles on Collier Avenue and Washington Street.

Woman found walking on Route 50: Heidelberg police arrested a woman at around 9:30 p.m. on April 11 after officers said she was highly intoxicated and walking in the middle of Route 50. Barbara G. McKenna, 52, of Carnegie, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway, public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Tow leads to disorderly conduct charges: Joseph T. Thomas, 38, of Bridgeville, was charged with disorderly conduct after Heidelberg police said he became angry when officers tried to have his disabled vehicle towed from Garfield Avenue on April 10.

 

Child endangerment charge: A Bridgeville man faces multiple charges after police said they responded to a house in the 300 block of New York Street for a disturbance on April 8. Bridgeville police charged 22-year-old Logan Taylor with simple assault, child endangerment and harassment. Police did not elaborate on the incident.

Harassing text messages: Corey Dunbar, 20, of Bridgeville, was charged with harassment on April 5 after borough police said he continued to send text messages to a woman after being warned twice to stop.

Public drunkenness arrest: Linda Tschudi of Bridgeville was charged with public drunkenness after borough police said they found her intoxicated in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on April 7.

 

Detached garage burglarized: Scott Township police are investigating the burglary of a detached garage in the 400 block of Carothers Avenue on April 14. Police said there was minor damage done to a vehicle parked inside the garage.

Disorderly at Walmart: Mark A. Durbin, 48, of Carnegie, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after Scott police said he was yelling at other customers at Walmart on April 9.

Public drunkenness charge: Drew Kramer, 34, of Heidelberg, was charged with public drunkenness on April 13 after Scott police said they found him intoxicated in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue.

DUI arrest: Scott Township police said they charged Adele E. Keeling, 25, of Crafton Heights, with drunken driving after a traffic stop on Greentree Road in the early hours of April 15.

Police called to six-pack shop for intoxicated woman: Barbara Turney, 39, of Carnegie, was charged with public drunkenness on April 14 when Scott police said she was heavily intoxicated at 99 Bottles on Washington Avenue.

Drug paraphernalia charge: Scott police said they charged 38-year-old township resident Joseph Boris with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident along Torrence Avenue on April 13.
