Collier police said a woman reached for an officer's Taser while they attempted to arrest her.

Taser incident: A South Fayette woman faces a litany of charges after Collier police said she tried to wrestle a Taser away from one of the officers while they attempted to place her in handcuffs. Police said 52-year-old Lee Ann Belsito was causing a disturbance near St. Barbara’s Church off Prestley Road on Sept. 18. When officers tried to arrest her, police said she resisted and put her hands on one of the officer’s Taser. Police said they charged her with disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and paraphernalia, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Backpack theft: Collier police charged a Florida man with theft after investigators said he took items out of an unattended backpack at the Texas Roadhouse. A restaurant employee said he went into the bathroom to change on Oct. 2 and when he came back out, a wallet, cigarettes and $300 worth of gift cards were taken from the backpack. Police said they charged Michael Arends, 43, of Floral City, Fla., with theft and possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

Construction equipment missing: A Bobcat construction vehicle and trailer were stolen from United Industrial Park some time between Sept. 21 and 26.

Public drunkenness charge: Lyda T. Ware, 28, of Scott, was charged with public drunkenness on Sept. 28 after township police said they found her intoxicated on Greentree Road.

Television stolen: A flat-screen television was taken from a Boden Avenue apartment on Oct. 2, Scott police said. Investigators said a window-mounted air conditioning unit was removed so the burglars could get inside the apartment.

Handgun missing: Scott police said a handgun was stolen from inside a car parked on Cherrytree Road in the early hours of Oct. 1.

 

Police foot chase: Two Upper St. Clair men face multiple charges following a disturbance along Ramsey Avenue on Sept. 23 that led to a foot chase. Bridgeville police said they charged David Neil, 21, with escape, loitering and public intoxication, and Anthony Neil, 32, with escape, corruption of minors, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Altered tags: Stephen Riddle, 53 of Heidelberg, was charged with forged plates on Sept. 27 after Bridgeville police said his Jeep’s state inspection sticker had been altered.

Disorderly conduct charge: Bridgeville police said they charged 48-year-old Janet Gruda with disorderly conduct after they smelled marijuana coming from her Bridgeville Towers apartment on Sept. 27.
