Missing Boy Found in New York

Raymont Pope was found in Syracuse, N.Y.

A toddler from Pittsburgh's East End who was reported missing last week has been located with his father in Syracuse, N.Y., police in Pittsburgh said today.

Raymont Pope, 1, is safe and unharmed, Lt. Dan Herrmann said in a statement.  His father, Radford Pope, is in a jail in Syracuse and will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges of kidnapping and interfering with custody, Herrmann said.

Police had been searching for Raymont since July 6, when relatives last saw him on Bennett Street in Homewood. Police said they believed the boy was in the custody of his father, who also uses the name Arthur Lee Pope Jr.

Raymont Pope was last seen Wednesday morning on Bennett Street in Homewood. Police said the child's father had previously taken his son from the area.
