More classes might be available to residents in the future.

More than 30 Collier Township residents attended a Gun Safety and Familiarization class on April 13 taught by Collier police officers Kris Sabin and Bill Oslick, according to The Almanac.

The officers stressed the importance of locking away guns and installing safety locks on guns. Free safety cable locks were given to all participants, according to the newspaper.

Officers also went over the different types of guns, the difficulty of distinguishing real and toys guns and stressed how children should be taught not to touch guns if they see them, according to the report.
