Man Accused of Theft in Scott Twp. Waives Charges to Court

Updates from the court of Magisterial District Judge Gary M. Zyra.

The following is an update on court cases heard by District Judge Gary Zyra on July 11. Zyra oversees Heidelberg and Scott Township.

A Pittsburgh man charged with theft in Scott Township waived his charges to court in lieu of a hearing scheduled for July 11 before Magisterial District Judge Gary M. Zyra.

Michael Stevenson, 43, was charged after Scott Township police arrested him for shoplifting at Marshall's on July 3.

Stevenson waived to court charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property. A charge of making false reports to police was withdrawn.

Waived/Held for Court:

  • Robert Walker, Jr., 36, of Carnegie, waived to court charges of aggravated assault, conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person, fleeing a police officer, possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and reckless driving. Allegheny County police charged Walker on May 30.
  • Joseph Weikel, 31, of Pittsburgh, waived to court a retail theft charge. Scott Township police charged Weikel on June 27.
  • Charges of aggravated assault, conspiracy, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering another person against Albert Horner, Jr., 31, of Canonsburg, were held for court. Allegheny County police charged Horner on May 30.
