Loose Dog Killed By Car in Bridgeville

The dog's owner was cited for letting the animal run loose. Read more about that and more incidents in the weekly Bridgeville police blotter.

A pit bull that was running loose in Bridgeville was hit and killed by a car on Bower Hill Road earlier this month.

Bridgeville police said the dog was running loose around 10 p.m. on Oct. 5 when it was struck by a car at Bower Hill Road and Liberty Street.

The dog later had to be euthanized because of the injuries it suffered were too severe to survive.

Police said they cited the animal’s owner, Regina Camp, 39, of Bridgeville, for letting the dog run loose.

Dump truck crashes into garbage truck: No one was injured on Sept. 24 when a dump truck crashed into a garbage truck in the 600 block of Baldwin Street, Bridgeville police said. Glenn Brickner, 41, of Bridgeville, was charged with accident involving damage, police said.

Man accused of doing drugs near young child: Greg Guzzi, 33, of Bridgeville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child after police officers said they found him smoking drugs while a young child was in his Pennsylvania Avenue residence. Police from Bridgeville and Scott Township arrested him on Sept. 27 and took him to Allegheny County Jail on the charges. Police said they also charged his 34-year-old wife, Amy Guzzi, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

DUI charge: Will Forester, 23, of Upper St. Clair, was charged with drunken driving after Bridgeville police said they stopped his car on Washington Avenue around midnight on Sept. 29.

DUI and underage drinking charges: Shelby Casper, 20, of Bridgeville, was charged with drunken drinking, underage drinking and driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop along Washington Avenue in the early hours of Sept. 29, borough police said.

Disorderly conduct charge: Howard Rucker, 35, of Bridgeville, was charged with disorderly conduct on Oct. 1 when borough police said he became angry while officers tried to serve him court papers at his McLaughlin Run Road residence.

Man thrown out of bar: Donn Lauther, 30, of Claysville, was charged with public drunkenness after Bridgeville police said they were called to Castaway’s Bar in the early hours of Sept. 25.

Underage drinking charge: A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with underage drinking after Bridgeville police said they responded to a person having a seizure in the early hours of Sept. 28.
