Teen Charged With Sending Threatening Text Messages to Scott Residents

Updates from Scott Township police, July 22 to July 29.

A Mt. Lebanon teen has been charged after allegedly sending threatening text message to people in Scott Township.

According to a report from Scott Township police, Nicholas Leitkam, 18, was charged with sending threatening text messages to residents in Scott Township on July 26.

Leitkam was taken into custody and transported to Allegheny County Jail for his arraignment, according to the report.

Also in the blotter:

  • A vehicle parked behind a Glenn Avenue home was damaged, sometime between noon on July 22 and 9:15 a.m. on July 23.
  • Money was reportedly stolen from lottery machines at the Pit Stop Express on Painters Run Road between July 5 and July 23. Police are investigating.
  • Scrap metal left outside a business on Bower Hill Road was reportedly stolen between 3 p.m. on July 22 and 6 a.m. on July 24.
  • Thomas Pointer, 65, of Scott Township, was charged with public intoxication in the 400 block of Spikenard Street on July 24 at 7:30 p.m.
  • James Atkins, 22, of Carnegie, was charged with DUI (alcohol) after a vehicle crash on Kismet Street at 11:44 p.m. on July 24.
  • Louis Partee, 20, of Scott Township, was charged with theft and forgery for stealing and completing a personal check not belonging to him on July 21.
