Driver Who Crashed SUV into Thoms Run Stream Charged with DUI
A South Fayette man who crashed his SUV into Thoms Run stream with his two dogs in the vehicle is being charged for drunken driving. Read about that and scrap metal thefts in the weekly Collier Township police blotter.
A South Fayette man who crashed his SUV into Thoms Run stream with his two dogs in the vehicle is being charged for drunken driving.
Collier Township police said George Ferguson, 60, was intoxicated when his SUV crashed into the stream on KB Hollow Road on Feb. 4.
Neither Ferguson nor his two dogs were injured when the SUV rolled into the stream on the municipal line between Collier and South Fayette townships.

Firefighters had to pull Ferguson and the dogs from the wreckage, and had some trouble removing the SUV from the stream.

Collier Township
Battery cords stolen: Thomas Snyder, 33, of Pittsburgh, and Michael Conway, 46, of Scott Township, face charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy after Collier police said they stole battery cords from Hunter Truck Sales on Feb. 15. Police said they were caught trying to sell them at All-American Metals in Carnegie.
Copper piping stolen: Collier Township police said 50-feet of copper piping was stolen from a home construction site on Crest Drive. The theft is believed to have occurred at the new development on Feb. 9 or 10.
