Downed trees and an unstable hillside closed Ridge Road in Bridgeville near McLaughlin Run Road for several hours Monday.
The nasty weather ahead of Hurricane Sandy apparently caused at leaset one tree to fall down the hillside around 10 a.m. Monday. It ripped down at least three powerline poles in the process.
Bridgeville firefighters closed Ridge Road for most of Monday to remove the tree and possibly others because of the unstable hillside. One lane of McLaughlin Run Road was also closed to allow crews to remove the debris.
