The most serious charges against a man accused of injuring two people in a knife fight in Bridgeville have been withdrawn. Other charges stemming from the fight were held for court

The most serious charges against a Washington County man fight in Bridgeville have been withdrawn.

Four felony counts of aggregated assault against Benjamin Brown, 26, of Washington, were withdrawn during his preliminary hearing before on April 30. However, five misdemeanor simple assault charges and two counts each of reckless endangerment and harassment were waived to court.

Bridgeville police accused Brown of injuring a man and a woman with a knife during a fight in the 200 block of Prestley Road on April 4. Police said Brown also punched the woman in the face.

The two people were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. Brown is free from the Allegheny County Jail on $30,000 bond.

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia against Joshua J. Shaffer, 34, of Carnegie, were waived to court. Collier police charged Shaffer Feb. 22.
