District Court Rulings – 5/10

All charges against an alleged drunk driver who crashed into his designated driver were waived to court. Read that and more preliminary court decisions from the area.

District Judge Gary Zyra oversees Heidelberg and Scott Township while District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet oversees Bridgeville and Collier Township.

Charges waived to court

  • All charges against a Collier Township man accused of crashing into his brother, , were waived to court. Drunken driving, disorderly conduct, accident involving damage, driving on a suspended license and other charges against Darrell L. Lanham were waived to court during his preliminary hearing on May 7. Bridgeville police arrested Lanham on April 12.
  • Eights charges of receiving stolen property and nine counts of theft from a vehicle against Justin M. Holzer, 27, of Mt. Oliver, were waived to court. South Fayette police charged Holzer on Feb. 13 and allege he committed the crimes in September 2011.
  • Two felony counts of drug possession with intent to deliver and another charge of possession of a controlled substance against William Gross Jr., 57, of Washington, PA, were waived to court. South Fayette police charged Gross on Sept. 26.
  • Two felony counts and one misdemeanor charge of identity theft against Scott P. Gajan, 38, of Allenport, were waived to court. South Fayette police charged Gajan on April 23.

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of defiant trespassing, retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia against William J. Deep, 25, of 316 Meade St., Morgan, were waived to court. Scott Township police charged Deep on April 18.
  • Drunken driving charges against Andrew C. Davis, 27, of Dallas, PA, were waived to court while a careless driving charge was withdrawn. Scott police arrested Davis on March 19.
  • Drunken driving charges and several traffic citations against Michele Owens, of 418 Old Washington Pike, Carnegie, were waived to court. Heidelberg police arrested Owens on March 18.
  • Charges of drunken driving, careless driving and several traffic violations against Gregory Gallaway, 51, of 206 Main Entrance Drive, Pittsburgh, were waived to court. Heidelberg police arrested Gallaway on March 17.

 

Charges reduced

  • Charges of public drunkenness, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia against William J. Deep, 25, of 316 Meade St., Morgan, were withdrawn, and retail theft and disorderly conduct charges were reduced to non-traffic citations. Scott police charged Deep on March 26.
  • A disorderly conduct charge against Ryan Mazza, 19, of Washington, PA, was reduced to a non-traffic citation.
