Preliminary court rulings by District Judge Gary Zyra.

District Judge Gary Zyra oversees Heidelberg and Scott Township. The office of , who oversees Bridgeville and Collier Township, was closed due to state-mandated training.

Charges held to court

  • District Judge Gary Zyra held a number of charges against Renita E. Arrington, 50, of Meadville, to court.  Arrington, who was arrested by Heidelberg police on Nov. 3, will go to trial on charges of disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, drunken driving, reckless driving, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of criminal trespassing, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property against James Fincham, 30, of 307 W. Sycamore St., Pittsburgh, were waived to court. Heidelberg police originally charged Fincham on Nov. 22.
  • Drunken driving and reckless driving charges against Joseph Campbell, 26, of 1215 Front St., Carnegie, were waived to court. Scott police originally arrested Campbell on Nov. 15.
  • Charges of drunken driving and traffic lane violation against Jacob Wissell, 25, of 708 Winstein St., Bridgeville, were waived to court. Scott police arrested Wissell on Oct. 28.
  • Drunken driving and traffic violation charges against Edward W. Price, 44, of 2393 High Oak Drive, Pittsburgh, were waived to court. State police arrested Price on Sept. 1.

 

Charges withdrawn

  • A theft charge against Kevin C. Schaap, 45, of 2376 High Oak Drive, Pittsburgh, was withdrawn. Scott police originally charged Schaap on Nov. 10.
  • Charges of robbery, simple assault, theft and counterfeit access device against Charles Ragland, 40, of 820 Capitol Drive, Carnegie, were withdrawn. A harassment charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott police originally charged Ragland on Nov. 13.
  • Simple assault and criminal mischief charges against Mark Mesagno, 48, of 1742 Washington St., Carnegie, were withdrawn. A harassment charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott police originally charged Mesagno on Nov. 29.
  • A theft charge against Justin M. Penatzer, 24, of 503 Carothers Ave., Carnegie, was withdrawn, and a disorderly conduct charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Heidelberg police originally charged Penatzer on Oct. 25.
  • Drug paraphernalia possession and underage purchase of alcohol charges against Alexander A. Norelli, 18, of 362 Spring Valley Road, Pittsburgh, were withdrawn. A disorderly conduct charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott police originally charged Norelli on Oct. 24.
  • A simple assault charge against Richard A. Jones, 40, 133 Boroview Ave., Carnegie, was withdrawn, and a harassment charge was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott police originally charged Jones on Nov. 20.
