District Court Rulings - 12/22

The man accused of pouring rum on a friend's leg and setting him on fire will go to trial on some of those charges.

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of criminal conspiracy, reckless endangerment and risking a catastrophe against Brandon H. Washington, 25, of 911 Steen Road, Bridgeville, were waived to court. Aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation charges were withdrawn. Heidelberg police arrested Washington on Oct. 17 after investigators said he poured rum on a man’s leg before setting it on fire.

Charges held for court

  • Felony drug charges and a furnishing alcohol to minors charge against Dana Kempton, 42, of 500 Finley Ave., Carnegie, were held for court. A subsequent corruption of minors charge was withdrawn. Scott Township police arrested Kempton on June 1.
  • Charges against Christopher Scott, 25, of 410 Kismet St., Carnegie, of unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving on a suspended sentence and failing to notify police of an accident were held for court. Scott Township police charged Scott on Oct. 27.
  • Drunken driving, careless driving and other traffic charges against Willie Walker, 25, of 401 Abbeyville Road, Pittsburgh, were held for court. State police arrested Walker on Oct. 2.
  • Charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license against James R. Serafin, 23, of Scott Township, were held for court. Heidelberg police arrested Serafin on Dec. 9.

 

 

Charges waived to court

  • Criminal attempt, criminal mischief and several theft charges against Dylan R. McNemar, 19, of Upper St. Clair, were held for court. Collier Township police charged McNemar on Oct. 18.
  • Drunken driving, purchasing alcohol and underage drinking charges against Amber Dell, 19, of Scott, were waived to court. A reckless driving charge was withdrawn. Collier police charged Dell on Oct. 8.
  • A harassment charged against Edwin M. Meharey, 42, of New Kensington, was waived to court and a stalking charge was withdrawn. Bridgeville police charged Meharey on Oct. 31.
  • A felony rape charge against Kenneth J. Capes, 22, of Bridgeville, was waived to court. Furnishing alcohol to minors and indecent assault charges were also waived to court, while sexual assault and indecent assault charges were withdrawn. Bridgeville police charged Capes on Oct. 7.

 

Charges reduced

  • A simple assault charge was reduced and disorderly conduct summary offense was reduced to a non-traffic citation against 26-year-old Jonathan D. Garside. Collier police charged Garside on Dec. 15.
