Charges Held Against Girlfriend of "Getaway Driver" Involved in Retail Theft Case

An update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

The following is an update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet on June 3. McGraw-Desmet oversees Bridgeville and Collier Township.

Charges were held for court last week against a woman police said was caught committing retail theft when her boyfriend left her at the Bridgeville Rite Aid in March.

Bridgeville police charged Jonna Swisher, 33, of Canonsburg with retail theft and conspiracy after Rite Aid employees reported her for theft on March 1.
Swisher's boyfriend, Joshua Patragas, 32, of Washington, who police said was supposed to be the getaway driver, left the parking lot when officers arrived at the Rite Aid for a theft report. Police said he left Swisher alone to be arrested.

Waived/Held for Court

  • Barbara Zawacki, 52, of Bridgeville, waived to court charges of DUI, careless driving and traffic violations. Bridgeville police charged Zawacki on March 27.
  • Joshua Maltz, 25, of Bridgeville, waived to court charges of DUI and careless driving. A second DUI charge, and a charge of reckless driving, were withdrawn. South Fayette Township police charged Maltz on May 14.
  • Mitchel Malizio, 24, of Pittsburgh, waived to court charges of criminal use of a communications facility, manufacture/delivery or possession with intent to deliver, and possession of a controlled substance. Bridgeville police charged Malizio on Feb. 6.
  • Marco Giuntini, 24, of Carnegie, waived to court charges of DUI and a vehicle equipment violation. Bridgeville police charged Giuntini on April 6.
  • Cody Crawford, 21, of Bulger, Pa., waived to court charges of DUI. Collier police charged Crawford on April 8.
  • A charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle against Vincent Tabone, 20, of Carnegie, was held for court. Collier police charged Tabone on April 8.
