Forrest’s girlfriend said she noticed blood in the girl’s underwear on Aug. 14 and went to their family doctor, according to a criminal complaint supporting his arrest. They later went to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and physicians there said they found trauma consistent with an assault, according to the complaint.

According to the complaint, the girl also told doctors interviewing her that “Daddy hurt me.”

Police interviewed Forrest and he gave them several accounts of why the girl was injured and why they found blood in her underwear. Police said he told them that he thought the injuries might have occurred when he wiped her too hard while drunk and high on drugs. Police said he later told them he might have accidentally poked her with his fingers while trying to catch her when she fell from the toilet.

Investigators, however, said those explanations were inconsistent with the injuries and the girl’s interview with police.

Allegheny County police filed charges on Aug. 30, but could not find Forrest. He was later found at his Prestley Road residence on Sept. 3 and arrested by Bridgeville police.

During the search, officers said they found him in possession of a syringe. While at the Allegheny County Jail, police said they found drugs hidden in his clothes and inside his body.

added numerous drug charges.
