Arraignment Scheduled for Man Accused of Sleeping Behind the Wheel

An update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

The following is an update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet on June 17. McGraw-Desmet oversees Bridgeville and Collier Township.

A Bridgeville man's case is headed to court after charges were held last week in a preliminary hearing before District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

Derek Mullen, 30, of McMurray, was charged with DUI, careless driving and other offenses after police said he was found sleeping behind the wheel of a car in the 300 block of Station Street on March 30.

Formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 2. Bridgeville police filed charges on March 31.

Held for court:

  • Charges of possession of a controlled substance against Tion Jones, 27, of Pittsburgh, were held for court. Collier Township police charged Jones on April 21.
  • Charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and endangering the welfare of children against Schelita Mason, 24, of Bridgeville, were held for court. Bridgeville police charged Mason on June 4.
