Annual Firefighters Golf Fundraiser Gears Up
Golf outing charity event benefits Kirwan Heights, Presto and Rennerdale volunteer fire departments.
In an effort to raise money for Collier Township’s three volunteer fire departments and to make the township safer, The Collier Township Firefighters Association’s will hold its fifth annual Hall of Flame Golf Outing on July 11 at the Club at Nevillewood.
Previously, the golf outing has had strong support from the community and has raised approximately $120,000 the past four years. Proceeds benefit Kirwan Heights, Presto and Rennerdale volunteer fire departments.
“The Hall of Flame Golf Outing is a major fundraiser for the three fire departments,” Collier Township Commissioner Bob Schuler said. “The fundraiser helps purchase items the fire departments need. It does not cover everything, but helps the non-profit organization.”

The money raised provides for new equipment, suits and funds the newest technological advances in fire safety. Additionally, money can be used toward training.
The event includes lunch, 18 holes of golf and a dinner program in which golfers are awarded prizes. In addition to the outing itself, the fire departments will raise money through a silent auction of donated items which golfers are able to bid on. Raffle tickets will be on sale with the chance win $2,500, $1,000 and $500.
