Suspected Peeping Tom Leaves Area

Local authorities think the peeping tom who spent the past few months peering into area homes has left the region.

Investigators recently searched the man’s South Fayette residence, but did not have enough evidence to charge him. However, Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said the man “got the message” and returned to his hometown near Williamsport.

King said police identified the man using footprints, prowling patterns and by talking to Williamsport police about past incidents involving the person. King added that the man – whom he would not identify because no arrest was made - usually went to homes near fields or wooded areas.

“He seemed to have certain patterns,” King said.

King said Bridgeville police had reports of a peeping tom in the area of Alice and Nancy drives in December and January. There also were numerous reports in neighboring South Fayette and Cecil townships.

Cecil police said there were three incidents in which a man was seen peering through windows of private homes in the township after dark. In each of those incidents, there were young girls inside the homes.
