Bridgeville Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled

Bridgeville officials are asking families who wanted to attend the borough's Easter Egg Hunt to instead go to Journey Church for their event this weekend.

Bridgeville’s annual Easter Egg Hunt has been cancelled, although borough officials say families can instead attend a similar event this weekend at Journey Church on Prestley Road.

Borough officials said the Bridgeville Community Association, which is not directly affiliated with the local government or volunteer fire department, did not make the proper plans in time.

The event typically has been at the Bridgeville fire hall.

Any area residents who were looking forward to the event can attend the Community Easter Egg Hunt from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Journey Church. The event organizers said they plan to have 2,000 Easter eggs to hunt and will also have food, inflatable “bounce houses” and obstacle courses for the kids.

The church is also giving away four bicycles and $100 worth of Toys “R” Us gift cards.
