Enjoy the Holidays at the Neville House

Woodville Plantation will have various 18th century holiday events on Nov. 20.

The holidays are fast approaching and re-enactors at will demonstrate how early Americans celebrated Christmas in the 18th century.

is hosting its annual Holidays at the Neville House from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20.

The re-enactors will give information about the historic house, explain and offer a candlelight tour after the sun goes down. Visitors can learn how holiday customs such as Twelfth Night, Boxing Day and the firing of the Christmas guns are different than modern-day celebrations.

“The celebrations of an 18th century Christmas will come to life with costumed guides, holiday displays and traditional decorations,” according to a press release about the event.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids 6 to 12 and free to children under 6. For more information about the event, visit the Woodville Plantation’s website at www.woodvilleplantation.org or call 412-221-0348.
