Heidelberg Bridge on Route 50 Reopens

The confusing cross-over pattern on Route 50 had caused heavy traffic delays in Heidelberg.

has reopened the eastbound lanes of the Heidelberg Bridge that carries Route 50 traffic over Chartiers Creek and into the Glendale neighborhood of Scott Township.

The lanes had been close since March 22 when construction crews moved both directions of traffic onto the westbound side of the bridge, causing heavy back-ups on Route 50 in due to the crossover configuration.

Workers reopened the eastbound lanes Tuesday morning, although there will still be single-lane restrictions until the middle of June as construction crews continue working on the surface of the deck.
