The Catholic Sisters of Western PA Food Drive

The Catholic Sisters of Western Pennsylvania are inviting the public to their homes to join them in service as they collect food for families in need.

The Catholic Sisters of Western Pennsylvania are sponsoring a tri-county wide food drive during the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.  The group’s most recent collaborative service project is being done in conjunction with the World Day of Consecrated Life on Feb. 5, a day set aside by the Roman Catholic Church to witness to women and men called to religious life, as well as honor the past, present, and future of consecrated life. 

Food donation collection sites will be set-up during Consecrated Life Week by 13 participating congregations of women religious, which include:

  • Benedictine Sisters – Pittsburgh (North Hills)
  • Felician Franciscan Sisters– Coraopolis, PA
  • School Sisters of St. Francis – Pittsburgh (Bellvue)
  • Sisters of Charity of Nazareth – Pittsburgh (Allison Park)
  • Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill – Greensburg, PA
  • Sisters of Divine Providence – Pittsburgh (Allison Park)
  • Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth – Pittsburgh (North Hills)
  • Sisters of the Holy Spirit – Pittsburgh (North Hills)
  • Sisters of the Humility of Mary – Villa Maria, PA
  • Sisters of Mercy – Pittsburgh (Oakland)
  • Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities – Pittsburgh (Millvale)
  • Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God – Pittsburgh (South Hills)
  • Sisters of St. Joseph – Baden, PA

Items collected will be distributed to local charities, including the Pittsburgh Food Bank, North Hills Community Ministries, St. Winifred’s Food Pantry in Pittsburgh’s South Hills, The Ladle in Ambridge, Little Sisters of the Poor, Our Lady’s Pantry at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in Coraopolis, Vincent DePaul Food Pantry of Greensburg and Emmanuel Community Care Center in Ohio.
