Healthy Body Image

Becoming a young woman often causes emotional ups and downs. While it is normal to experience strong emotions during puberty, taking care of one’s feelings is as important as taking care of one’s changing body. This class, which is designed for pre-teen girls and their mothers, addresses ways to recognize and deal appropriately with feelings, as well as learning effective communication techniques with friends, parents and other supportive adults. Issues involving self-esteem and bullying are also addressed.  St. Clair Hospital recommends that participants of this class also attend the Growing and Changing program.  For additional information, please call 412-942-5895.
