The Flag Day Tribute will take place at the Veterans’ Memorial at the Municipal Building. Ten individuals have been chosen to speak at the tribute. Flag Day received permanent recognition through the efforts of the late William T. Kerr who lived in the Rennerdale area. Mr. Kerr lobbied Congress for years and was present in 1949 when President Harry Truman signed the Act of Congress making June 14th Flag Day.
