Samuel J Foundation 10th Annual Laughter Is The Best Medicine Comedy Benefit

“Laughter Is The Best Medicine,” a comedy benefit for the Samuel J Foundation’s Pediatric Brain Tumor Fund, is planned for March 1, 2014 at The Chartiers Room, 370 Commercial Street, Bridgeville, PA  15017. Doors open at 6 PM, with a buffet dinner from Texas Roadhouse served at 6:30 and the show beginning at 8 PM.  This event is in its tenth year. The show will feature Pittsburgh’s own Matt Wohlfarth, Andy Piccaro and Chuck Mignanelli. In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a basket raffle, as well as beer, wine and other refreshments, all available for donations.  . Tickets are $25 in advance and include dinner, and $30 at the door.  Tables of 10 can be reserved in advance for $250.  Reserved tables must be paid by February 25, 2014.The Samuel J Foundation was founded in 2004 by Kelly Johnson of Collier Township, PA in memory of her son, Samuel Jacob Johnson, who died from a brain tumor in November 2003 at age 3. The Samuel J Foundation’s mission is to give children with brain tumors hope for a cure and bring smiles into the lives of children with all types of pediatric cancers and their families. The Foundation’s current programs include a snack cart for parents and children on the inpatient oncology unit at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as a pediatric brain tumor fund that is used to support local patients and researchers.  Some funds from prior years’ events have been used to help patient families from all over the U.S. to come to Pittsburgh to participate in promising vaccine research at Children’s Hospital.To purchase tickets online or for more information, visit www.samuelj.org, or email kelly.johnson@samuelj.org.
