Bishop Canevin Hosts 4th Annual Christmas in the Courtyard

Bishop Canevin High School will present its 4th annual Christmas in the Courtyard: A Lessons and Carols Concert on the school’s campus on Wednesday, Dec. 18th. The school’s public and free event will open to guests at 6 p.m. for light refreshments.

Prior to the main concert, mini performances will be given by soloists and small ensembles in the lobby areas of the high school beginning at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the main concert will begin in the school auditorium.

The beautifully decorated campus by the school’s Art Department and National Honor Society students provides the perfect backdrop for this festive celebration. “During this Holiday time, we hope to bring the community together to celebrate and be inspired by the sounds of this holy season,” said Bishop Canevin President, Ken Sinagra. The concert will include Sacred Lessons and Carols, five lessons and related choral works reflecting on the promise of a messiah and the birth of Jesus, and popular Christmas selections.

The evening will feature the Bishop Canevin Concert Choir, Concert Band and Freshmen Chorus. Joining the festivities will be special guest choirs from local grade schools, including St. Margaret of Scotland School in Green Tree, Our Lady of Grace School in Scott and St. Philip School in Crafton.
