Weather Predictions Cancel I-79 Bridge Work
The project near the Bridgeville interchange will be rescheduled at a later date.
Due to expected inclement weather, work on I-79 in the area of the Exit 54 interchange scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights, March 29-30, has been cancelled.
The project to install bridge compression seals in the area will be rescheduled, according to PennDOT District 11 spokesman Jim Struzzi.
The work is included in a $2.6 million project started in 2011 to improve I-79 from Washington County to the Bridgeville interchange. Swank Construction Co. LLC of New Kensington is the prime contractor. Overall work will conclude in summer 2012.
