Extras Needed For New Batman Movie

If you missed out on your chance to be an extra in The Perks of Being a Wallflower that has been shooting around the South Hills, you may want to try out again for another movie being filmed this summer in Pittsburgh

The Dark Knight Rises, the newest Batman film, entered into production under the production title Magnus Rex. SWD Casting is in charge of finding extras for the movie.

The announcement said the Warner Bros. Film “requires extras to play as victims and perpetrators within a city besieged by crime and corruption. Take part in the urban action adventure ripping through the streets of Pittsburgh from July 28 through Aug. 21."

Casting dates are coming up soon and will take place in the Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh on the following dates:

Sat. June 11 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. 

Sun. June 12 - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

Sat. June 18 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.

Sun. June 19 - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

Casting directors are looking for men and women of all ethnicities ages 18 and older. They said no experience is necessary. Some specific roles they are looking to fill are for prisoners, thugs, guards, police officers, businessmen and women and sports fans. 

The film will feature Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and Anne Hathaway. It is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012.

According to the Pittsburgh Film Office, more than 100 motion pictures and television productions have used Pittsburgh as a location. Click here to see the list.
