Construction Almost Completed on The Fresh Market in Mt. Lebanon

Construction crews are making big progress on The Fresh Market grocery store planed for Route 19 in Mt. Lebanon.

Construction crews are making big progress on The Fresh Market grocery store planed for the corner of Washington and Connor roads 19 in Mt. Lebanon.

The building’s structure is up and crews are now working to finishing the exterior.

Demolition crews razed the old Roth Carpet in January to make way for the new grocery store.

The Fresh Market grocery store offers “an old-style butcher shop and fish market, bakery, produce and floral stands.” A company spokeswoman said a lease has been signed for the location, but an opening date still is unknown.

According to The Fresh Market website, the store would convey an atmosphere of an old world European market with an old-style butcher shop and fish market, bakery, produce and floral stands, and delicatessen. According to representatives, there would also be an outdoor dining area for customers in front of the store at the Mt. Lebanon location.

Mt. Lebanon officials approved the plan last summer.

Doesn't look there is going to be nearly enough parking!

Do we really need another grocery store?...especially at that bottleneck of an intersection!

Despite the location and number of grocery stores in the area, those of us who appreciate natural, organic and healthy food are really looking forward to having another option. We can't wait for the store to open!
