Carnegie Coffee Opens in Old Post Office

It's the first in western Pennsylvania to serve Illy coffee, from Italy.

The Carnegie Coffee Co. has opened in the former Carnegie Post Office at 132 E. Main St., according to the Post-Gazette.

Owner of the Medicine Shoppe on the same street, Greg Romeo, and his wife, Ashley Comer, and friend, Matt Harkness, opened the new business together.

Romeo tells the newspaper his pharmacy will move next door by the end of the summer.

The coffee shop is the first in western Pennsylvania to serve Illy coffee, made from an Italian-grown coffee bean.

Espresso, smoothies, pastries, soups and sandwiches are also for sale.

The coffeehouse is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
