As you walk in, you have several seating options. If you’re looking for the comfort to please a big party, you can choose one of the booths or tables located to the left of the bar. If it’s just you and another guest, feel free to seat yourself at the high tables to the right of the bar.

And most importantly, if you’re stopping by for one or several of the Pittsburgh Bottle Shop Café’s more than 400 beers, take a seat at the bar long horseshoe-shaped bar. No matter where you are seated, you are in plain sight of two projector screen televisions, and at least six flat screens at all times. The highly visible location of all televisions prove that this establishment could be the perfect place to watch, oh I don’t know, let’s say Sunday night’s AFC Championship game between our Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York “Not Yets,” as ESPN’s Skip Bayless would say.

Of course, seating locations and television visibility isn’t everything when deciding where to eat. At the Pittsburgh Bottle Shop Café, you can choose from a wide variety of foods, which includes everything from a healthy-sized chicken salad, to a mouth-watering burger.

Almost as soon as I sat down, several of the eager waitresses welcomed myself and my guest to let us know what the particular specials were. Then, after a few moments of deliberation on the menu, we each settled on our meal of choice.

I chose the “Big Texan” burger, while my guest enjoyed the filet mignon salad, each of which is only $8.99. Within 15 minutes of ordering, our food was served despite the heavy “Happy Hour” crowd at the restaurant.

The filet mignon salad featured several tender pieces of the beef on top of a fresh plate of greens. Meanwhile, in between two toasted buns sat an enormous burger with bacon, hot barbeque sauce, onion rings and cheddar-jack cheese, a meal that would fill me for an entire night.

The entire meal came to less than $30 for two people that know how to eat. No matter what you may be in the mood for, the Pittsburgh Bottle Shop Café can meet your needs.

Affordability and versatility make this restaurant a great place for good food, good beer and a great place to watch the game.
