ROOT Sports Doing Story on Rebirth of Chartiers Park

ROOT Sports is documenting the demise and rise of Chartiers Park after Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Come out to the park tonight, wear your CV colors and support the BAA.

In September 2004, Hurricane Ivan unleashed its vengenace on Western Pennsylvania. Chartiers Park in Bridgeville was no expection. Flood waters gushed from the banks of Chartiers Creek flooding the park and ball fields - home to the Bridgeville Athletic Association (BAA).

All appeared lost. But with the spirit of resilience known in this region, volunteers rebuilt what was detroyed and restored baseball and softball for the community.

Now ROOT Sports wants to document that achievement. A ROOT Sports crew spent Monday night at the park fliming and conducting interviews about the flood, the aftermath and the road to recovery.

They would like to know what has happened the last 8 years since Hurricane Ivan came to Bridgeville. And they want Bridgeville and the BAA to tell the story.
