Johnstonbaugh's Music Center Held Summer Concert

The Chartiers Valley Shopping Center music school had a performance with three bands Sunday.

Johnstonbaugh's Music Center, the music school and store, located in Chartiers Valley Shopping Center, had a "Rock Band Camp Concert" Sunday at Peter's Place.

Three groups of musicians performed four songs each including favorites like “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” by Guns N’ Roses and “Helter Skelter” by The Beatles. The electric string group had a cool Lady Gaga medley the younger crowd could appreciate and the last band had new rock music for the audience to enjoy.

The second year event gathered more than 50 people. The Johnstonbaugh camp more than doubled this summer, with eight students, where as last year the camp only had three students. Additionally, this is the first year for electric strings. The school brought in a sound engineer who made professional recordings for the students.

Previously the event was held at CiCi's Pizza, on the other side of the plaza from the music store, and there were so many people that attended the concert had to be moved to a larger venue.
