Summer Reading Club: GYOTAKO
Gyotaku, "GEE - OH - TAH - KOO" is the ancient Japanese folk art of fish prints. The first Gyotaku were created to preserve the true record and size of species caught by Japanese anglers as far back as 1862. Today Gyotaku is an art form, which can be found in Art Gallery installations, on simple wall hangings, or even wrapping paper. Participants in this class will be creating T-shirts by applying paint to real fish (Yes, they’re dead!). Register by calling or stopping in the library.
