CV Grad Starring in New Ballet TV Show

A Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company alum stars in "Breaking Pointe," a new show on the CW Network.

A Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Company dancer is gracing the big screen in a new show centered on the beauty and elegance, as well as the intensity and competitivity, of ballet.

Allison DeBona stars in "Breaking Pointe" on the CW Network. The PYBC alum will also be teaching for a week in July during the school's Summer Intensive Program, for which spaces are still available.

DeBona studied and performed at the McMurray studio for five years. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, she grew up in New Castle, graduated from and attended Indiana University in Bloomington while training with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's graduate program.

Her new venue captures all things light and dark about the precise dance form.

Shot in rich, cinematic style, "Breaking Pointe" follows the inner workings of elite Salt Lake City Ballet Company, Ballet West, according to the show's website.

"Breaking Pointe" airs on the CW on Thursdays at 8 p.m. (It reruns on Mondays at 8 p.m.) You can view previous episodes here.
