Numerous volunteers spent Saturday planting trees West Railroad Street in Heidelberg.

About 40 people worked to plan numerous trees provided by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s TreeVitalize programs offered to many local communities.

The project is part of Heidelberg’s plans to improve the streetscape on and around Route 50.

“We thank everyone for their hard work,” borough Manager Joe Kauer said in a press release. “This project really turned out amazing, and it will leave a long-lasting positive impact on our community!”
