Summer Fun at the Library

Local libraries offer fun events and reading clubs this summer

Even while students are daydreaming about lazy days at the pool, it's still important for children to keep up the hard work and continue reading throughout the summer.

Our local libraries have a lot of fun activities, and summer reading clubs kids of all ages can enjoy during those when their sunburnt skin needs a break.

The Summer Reading Club runs from June 16 through July 30. Children 12 years old and younger are able to take advantage of this fun club. If kids keep their reading skills sharp by reading by recording at least one book each week of the program, they will receive cool prizes. Additionally, if you register for the SRC on June 16, kids are able to make a craft and for entertainment there will be a magician at 11 a.m. and a polka band at 7 p.m.

World Explorers will be held each Wednesday at 11 a.m. from June 22 to July 27. Kids in grades one through five are invited to travel around the world right from the heart of Bridgeville by learning new traditions about different countries. Fun activities include trying unique food and playing games. Registration is required.
