South Fayette

South Fayette Township will be holding its clean-up day on Friday, April 19. Volunteers will be focusing on Millers Run Road from Old Oakdale Road to Route 50. Township officials said they will ensure that adequate protection is implemented with the police and volunteer fire departments. If you’re interested in participating, contact the township office at 412-221-8700 to submit your name, ages and organization.

Scott Township

Scott Township’s annual “Community Clean-Up” will be Saturday, April 20. The clean-up will begin “rain or shine” at 9 a.m. at the township municipal building and end at noon. Clean-up materials such as trash bags, gloves and safety gloves, will be provided. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, sturdy shoes or boots and comfortable clothing. Anyone interested in participating is asked to contact Jane Sorcan at 412-276-5820 or jasorcan@verizon.net.

 

Collier Township

The seventh annual "Keep Collier Beautiful" clean-up day will be on Saturday, April 20. Volunteers will meet at the lower level of the Collier Township Municipal Building located at 2418 Hilltop Road rain or shine at 9 a.m. Doughnuts and drinks will be available for all. Volunteers will register and be provided with t-shirts, gloves, safety vests and trash bags. Volunteers will be driven to their designated work areas and will be picked-up at noon to come back to the municipal building for a light lunch and raffle prizes.

 

Heidelberg

The sixth annual “Let’s Redd Up Heidelberg” event is planned for Saturday, April 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Ellsworth Avenue Playground. Crews will pick up litter, plant trees and to do other Earth-friendly chores. Volunteers will be provided with trash bags, gloves, supplies, safety vests and refreshments. Any groups or people interested area asked to register at the Heidelberg Borough Building or by calling the office at 412-276-0363.

 

Bridgeville

The annual “Broom Up Bridgeville Day” will begin Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at Triangle Park. Volunteers should bring brooms, gloves and any other tools needed for the work. Safety vests and trash bags will be provided. The crews will be cleaning up around Triangle Park, Washington Avenue, Baldwin Street, Bower Hill Road and other areas in the borough. The event will be canceled if it’s raising by 8:45 a.m.
