Despite a few late day rainstorms, hundreds of people poured into Scott Park for the 150-year anniversary of Scott Township. Many of them enjoyed activities in and around the pool.
The sudden torrents of rain didn't dampen spirits at Scott Township's Sesquicentennial shindig.
Early in the day, many Scott residents enjoyed the cool refreshing water at Scott Pool. The pool opened its doors earlier than usual for the holiday festivities.
In the pool, there were games and prizes galore. One of the most thrilling events of the day was the Rubber Ducky race.Β The ducks were launched down the slide and raced to the finish line. The winner number, 411, was declared almost immediately after gliding down the slide. Proceeds benefited the Scott Conservancy and will be used to maintain the Kane Woods Nature Area for community use.Β
