Scott Township Sergeant Retires

A quick look at what happened during this week's Scott Township Commissioners Meeting.

The Scott Township Board of Commissioners accepted a letter of retirement from the police department Tuesday. Sgt. Alan J. Ballo was approved by the board to retire effective Aug. 22.

Ballo received his sergeant badge in May 2008 and was a dedicated member of the Scott Township Police for 26 years. Prior to working for the Township, he was a member of the police force in North Fayette and South Fayette.

  • The commissioners confirmed Kasey Fielder was able to use the bottom portion of Scott Township Park for her senior project. The Children’s Field Day took place last Saturday and went well.
  • Jason Partee was denied to hold a fitness class at Scott Park during the month of September. The Monday class at 6 a.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. did not pass because commissioners were worried about noise concerns at 6 a.m.
  • A motion was award to Cargill, Inc. The township will purchase its rock salt from the company in the amount of $55.83 per ton.
  • There was a motion to ratify advertising specs on salt shed repairs, as the roof needs replaced.
